About Uprising Tours

JOIN US FOR AN adventure you’ll turn into a tradition.

Led by Belize natives and operating out of breathtaking San Pedro, Uprising Tours specializes in private fishing and snorkeling charters that highlight the wonders of the water and the very best of Belize.

Our goal is to provide our guests with a memorable trip that's tailored to your needs and packed with adventure.

We take you to the hottest reef, inshore, and offshore spots in Belize and teach you the most efficient trolling, spinning, and bottom fishing methods.

Refreshments, catch cleaning, and licenses are covered by the charter. All the other supplies and equipment you need for a successful fishing expedition — including professional tackle, live bait, and lures — are provided.

We can accommodate groups up to 12 depending on the trip.

The minimum age for our fishing trips is 2 and we strive to deliver fun for all ages.

Meet YOUR CAPTAINS

Uprising Tours is led by a father-and-son team of born-and-bred Belizean fishermen.

Uprising Captain

Captain Dylan Henkis grew up on the water, learning (and helping build) the family business with his father.
Over his years as a crew member and now as captain, Dylan has helped hundreds of anglers of all experience levels learn their way around the water, heading home with catches to be proud of and stories to remember.
Captain Dylan is also a husband, father, and sport fisherman, with tournament wins stretching from his Frenchie's Offshore Top Junior Angler prize as a teen to the highly competitive Copa Mahahual fishing tournament in Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Knotty Pirate Captain
Captain Eric Henkis couldn't wait to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, learning the family trade as a fisherman and passing those skills down to his own children.
With two decades of experience leading fishing charters in Belize, Captain Eric knows these bountiful waters — and the prime fishing spots to hit during any given season.
His track record as a patient, proven teacher is clear as the Belizean waters — his sons Dylan and Eric are both prize-winning tournament fishermen, and the youngest Henkis, baby Salem, is already learning the boating ropes.
As the captain of Uprising Tours' Knotty Pirate, Captain Eric leads our larger charters, specializing in offshore and deep sea fishing.

CAPTAIN DYLAN HENKIS

• 25-foot, custom-built skiff powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine

Uprising features a fighting chair, a live bait tank, an ice box, top-notch navigational and safety gear, and, of course, a professional Fishfinder to guide us toward particularly productive fishing spots.
Reef fishing, offshore fishing and snorkeling charters
Accommodates up to 6 anglers of all experience levels. (We can accommodate groups up to 12 depending on the trip.)

THE KNOTTY PIRATE

CAPTAIN ERIC HENKIS

• 30-foot center console powered by two twin Yamaha 115 engines

On the Knotty Pirate, you'll find onboard amenities including a fighting chair, live bait well, ice box, snorkeling equipment and spearfishing equipment, along with leading navigational and safety gear and a top-grade Fishfinder.
Offshore fishing and reef fishing
Accommodates up to 10 anglers of all experience levels. (We can accommodate groups up to 12 depending on the trip.)

What WE’RE FISHING FOR

Depending on the bite, any of these species (and more) may be on the menu.

Spearfishing is also an option on our full-day trips if you let the captain know in advance. The minimum age for spearfishing is 9 and you’ll focus on lobsters and conch, based on the season.
